Popular Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh, on Thursday revealed why she does not attend the burial.
Tonto in a post on her Instagram account disclosed that the burial ceremony of her mother may be the first one she would ever attend.
The actress had been away from social media for a while following the death of her stepmother who had been a mother figure to her.
Tonto while addressing her friends who felt shut out during her loss, said she chose to mourn privately.
She noted that if she had invited them to her mumâs burial, she wonât be able to repay the same favour when the time comes.
She wrote, âI have never attended a burial before. I will never attend one too. I said this when I was a child and I stick by it.
âMy mumâs burial will/might be my first ever. To all my friends who think I am shutting them out, my reason is I donât attend burials.
âIf I let you attend my mumâs I will owe you the same favour and I canât repay that. If you love me, pray for my family. If you intend to support me, only pray for me.
âDonât send a dime or a consolation message. I donât do so well with that! But know I appreciate you all a lot and Iâm grateful.
âMy pain is bigger than you think. Your presence may mean a lot but Iâll love to grieve privately.â
