And it is evident that a number of Premier League clubs are in dire need of reinforcements and will look to exploit the January transfer window to its fullest.

The likes of Huddersfield, Crystal Palace, Southampton and even Tottenham who face the prospect of playing without talisman forward Harry Kane for about six weeks, need skilled target-men.

Legit.ng looks at five viable options with high chances of featuring in the English topflight courtesy of Four Four Two.

5. Mbaye Diagne (Kasimpasa)

The Senegalese forward now has 32 goals in just 35 matches for Turkish club Kasimpasa.

the 27-year-old has been linked with Leeds and Newcastle but may favour a move to Qatar as the money will just be more alliterative for the pocket.

4. Fran Sol (Willem II)

With Everton, Watford and Leeds all scrambling for the Spaniard.

The 26-year-old has scored 17 goals in 20 games this season.

Leeds look the more interested after a move to Dynamo Kiev failed to see the light of day.

3. Alfred Morelos (Rangers)

Morelos has everything it takes to serve him well in the Premier League.

The Rangers attacker has pace, energy and being only 22-years of age, he has time to further develop his strike.

The 22-year-old has 20 goals and a whopping 10 assists to his name in 34 matches this season.

2. Mbwana Samatta (Genk)

Tanzanian sensation Samatta has been in splendid form and bagging 14 goals in 31 games for Belgian side Jupiler Pro is no easy fete.

However, with Tanzania having failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations, Samatta is yet to play a major tournament for Tanzania.

1. Krzystof Piatek (Genoa)

Piatek has stunned the Italian Serie-A ever since signing for Genoa for KSh 520 million.

He scored an impressive 19 goals in 21 games and does not look to be relenting anytime soon.

Earlier, Tracknews.ng had reported how Premier League giants Chelsea reportedly agreed a transfer deal with Italian club Juventus for the signing of 31-year-old Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain.

The Blues are said to have agreed a loan deal with the Old Lady for Gonzalo Higuain to play at Stamford Bridge till the end of the ongoing Premier League season.
