New Arsenal midfielder, Jorginho, has explained why he couldn’t join Arsenal before this January window.

The 31-year-old has been confirmed as the Gunners’ latest signing on Tuesday.

Jorginho joins the Premier League leaders in a £12million deal from Chelsea.

He will wear the no. 20 shirt for Arsenal.

On Arteta trying to sign him, the Italian said: “I know he tried a few times before and it didn’t happen because of other reasons, not because of my wishes.”

Jorginho is now in contention to make his debut for Arsenal when they travel to Everton in Saturday’s early kick-off.
