TRENDING VIDEO: I will flog Babangida Aliyu, says Wike

Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state, says he will flog “the hell out” of Babangida Aliyu, a former governor of Niger state.

Wike was seen making the threat in a video clip that has gone viral on social media.

The Rivers governor was responding to comments credited to Aliyu.

In April, Aliyu said governors in the north worked against former President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 election because he reneged on their agreement not to seek another term.

But speaking on Monday at the government house in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital, Wike said it is unfortunate that the PDP still allows the former governor to be its member.

“Aliyu thinks it was that time they were moving everywhere, saying that they were fighting [the] PDP,” Wike said.

“We would have flogged the hell out of him. Rivers state is not… I will flog the hell out of him here.”

It is unclear if Wike meant go physical on Aliyu but here is the clip.
