Troyes, a European club, has congratulated Guinea-Bissau forward Mama Balde on his goal against Nigeria in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Friday.

Balde, who currently plays for Troyes, scored the game’s only goal as Guinea-Bissau defeated Nigeria 1-0 on Friday evening at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.

He scored for Guinea-Bissau in the 29th minute, propelling his team to the top of Group A with seven points after three games.

After the game, Troyes took to Twitter to congratulate Balde.

“Mama Balde holder and victorious with the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau,” Troyes tweeted. Faced with Nigeria, our striker delivered victory to his team with a goal in the 29th minute of play (0-1)!”

Balde will now hope to lead Guinea-Bissau to victory in the return leg against the Super Eagles on Monday.
