The Executive Assistant to the Bayelsa State Governor on Public Affairs and Social Orientation, Evang. George Turnah (MON) has Expressed rude shock over the news of the demise of Late Chief W.D Opokuma Ikisa Sambo (Rtd.), father to the Director Domestic Affairs, Government House, Yenagoa, Mr. Ibara John Sambo.

In a condolence message to the family, Turnah described the late W.D Sambo Rtd. as a hero who put his life in the line of duty for love of country.

He notes, “It is certainly a tough moment for you and members of your immediate family. Your late father was a good man, committed to his Christian faith and served the lord with all his heart. He was also a fine soldier who put in 32 years of unblemished service to nation and humanity, and retired gallantly from a successful military carrier. Like other heroes past, he put his life on the line, for love of country and gave his all for the security and peace of our dear Nation Nigeria. Truly, he will be missed”.

Calling on the family to take solace in the knowledge that, the late patriarch led a life of impact, worthy of emulation, Turnah affirmed that the soul of the departed is resting with the Almighty God.

He said, “It is my firm believe that you will strive to uphold the Christian virtues, societal norms, cultural ethics and moral values that your father lived and died for. His death no doubt is a loss not just to your immediate family, but to the people of Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, Bayelsa State and indeed the Ijaw nation. Though, papa has left us at a time his wise counsel is most needed by you, your siblings and the Government of Bayelsa State, be consoled that he has gone to be with the Lord his maker”.

Turnah prayed God to grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
