…..Celebrates with Ekerefe Family, Visits Orubebe
The Acting Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Bayelsa State, Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, on Sunday, June 1, 2025, paid a condolence visit to Mrs. Mawulu Tony, mother of Festus Tony, the young man recently gunned down by assailants at Igbogene Community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of the State.
Barr. Turnah, accompanied by members of the State Caretaker Committee of the PDP, expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and offered prayers for God to grant them the strength and comfort needed to bear the painful loss.
While speaking during the visit, the Acting Chairman decried the rising spate of violent crimes in the state and called on the Bayelsa State Government and security agencies to take immediate and decisive action to curb the alarming insecurity threatening peace and stability across communities in the state.

“It is both painful and unacceptable that a young and promising life like Festus Tony’s could be cut short in such a brutal and senseless manner. As a party and as citizens, we demand that the government and law enforcement agencies act swiftly to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators of this heinous act”.
He further urged all stakeholders, including community leaders, traditional institutions, youth groups, and residents, to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that will help safeguard lives and property in the state.
In response, the bereaved mother, Mrs. Mawulu Tony, expressed deep appreciation to the Acting Chairman and his delegation for the compassionate visit and moral support, describing it as a timely gesture that brought some measure of comfort in her time of grief.
The PDP family in Bayelsa State stands in solidarity with the Tony family and assures them of continued support as they mourn their beloved son.
The PDP Stalwart also led members of the State Working Committee on a congratulatory visit to Mr. and Mrs. Ebilade Ekerefe, following the birth of their baby.
The visit, which took place at the couple’s residence, was marked by joy and prayers as Barr. Turnah thanked God for the safe delivery and prayed for the newborn’s future. Mr. Ebilade Ekerefe, who is the Acting State Secretary of the PDP, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chairman and the delegation for sharing in their moment of joy.
Earlier, Barr. Turnah also paid a surprise visit to his longtime friend, Mr. Zenebo Orubebe (aka Minister). The visit, he noted, was to appreciate Orubebe’s steadfast friendship and support over the years.
Mr. Orubebe expressed joy for the visit and thanked Barr. Turnah for the kind gesture and enduring brotherhood.
