The poor service delivery of the Ecobank Nigeria PLC took a deafening turn between Wednesday and Thursday, rendering its teeming customers stranded.

According to our reporter who monitored and investigated unfortunate incident said that all the branches of the bank were shut and inoperational.

Asking one of the security details why the bank facilities in one of the branches in Wise 2, including the ATMS were not working, he simply said the branch was undergoing some maintenance, a reaction that betrayed the moribund vehicles that littered the bank promises.

“Oga, I understand your plight. The only branch that is operating at the moment is the Wise Market branch”.

Meanwhile, those who sought to use the Point of Sales machines for withdrawals were disappointed as no machine could pay them with messages: “Refer to Card Issue.”

One of the victims of Ecobank disservice lamenting said, ” I came all the way from Owerri for an bassy appointment but the money I needed for logistics couldn’t be accessed. I had to call my wife to send money to a PoS agent who had to pay me after receiving the money.

“Another distraught customer, making to travel back to Lagos said missed his prefered mass transit beacause of the failure of his ATM card to allow him make withdrawals, thereby keeping a day more in Abuja, regretting the reason having a relationship with the bank. “I must withdraw all money from this god damn bank”, he cries out.

When TrackNews Nigeria visited Wuse Market branch of Ecobank, he was only ushered in through the door.

He tried to inquires, he was simply told by one of the front tellers who pleaded and apologised on behalf of the bank, pledging they working hard to restore the hitches.

Meanwhile, corroborating our findings with Owerri branches, we discovered that the bank had totally shut down its former Owerri administrative head office opposite Nigerian Correctional Service, Owerri.

The Weatheral Road branch, is also shit down. On enquiry, one of the staff who pleaded on the condition of anonymity said; ” We are worried about the development in the bank. We don’t really understand what is going on. We were told told temporary shut down for maintenance. We pray that nothing has gone wrong.

It is expected that Ecobank should step out from their cocoons to tell the public what is going on.

Speaking with a financial analysts, he said the bank operational failures for two days would have made customers lose of over ₦ 2 billion worth of transactions.
