..Says Technical Education will end Restiveness in Delta State

TRACKING >>A Delta born human rights activist, Comrade Sheriff Mulade has appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to upgrade old Grammar Schools in the riverine communities to technical colleges so as to reduce restiveness among youths in such areas.

Comrade Mulade, an indigene of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West LGA, made the call in Warri saying that intellectual resources in the coastal communities can develop the State if well harnessed.

He particularly appealed to Governor Okowa to upgrade Gbaraun Grammar School, Oporoza, and Ogidigben Grammar School, Ogidigben both in Warri South West LGA, as well as Gbokoda Grammar School, Gbokoda, Tsekelewo Grammar School, Tsekelewo, both in Warri North LGA, plus Ogulagua Grammar School, Ogulagha and Ayakoromor Grammar School, Ayakoromor both in Burutu LGA of the State.

The environmental and human rights advocate described technical education as a panacea to unemployment, as it will help to create a better society for youths in the State. He urged the State Governor to keep to his campaign promise of giving a high premium to technical and vocational education in order to expand the frontiers of employment generation and wealth creation in the State.

Comrade Mulade asserted that technical education showcases technical knowledge and vocational skills in terms of innovation and production, and called for the provision of modern infrastructure and equipment for technical colleges and vocational training centres in the State.
