Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
A group operating under the auspices of The Atiku Youth Wing has asked eligible voters, particularly the youths, to participate actively in the general elections of 2023 by choosing a president who will take their issues into account.
The group backing Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made the appeal yesterday in Abuja during a news conference dubbed “the wings of the unifier,” where National Team Leader Kalgo Ibrahim spoke.
Ibrahim urged all Nigerians to “up to the occasion in electing competent leader for the sake of the country” in the face of “the heat of the current issues.”
Ibrahim said the welfare and well-being of Nigerian youths remained a top priority in the PDP program and Atiku when elected. He expressed confidence in Atiku’s experience to fix Nigeria.
These, in Ibrahim’s opinion, include the right promotion of young people and women to deserving positions in the national leadership levels, as stated in the PDP manifesto and demonstrated by Abubakar.
He gave young Nigerians assurance that Atiku’s pledge to provide young people and women a 40% share of political appointments would not just a paper promise.
“We understand that many of Nigeria’s youth are hurt and marginalized, but the PDP’s youth-friendly platform’s unwavering devotion and innovative concerns will wipe away your tears and worries.
This will be done while taking into account the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike’s current ongoing and protracted industrial action.
“We want to reassure our brothers and sisters that if Atiku Abubakar wins the general elections in 2023, there will be a full reversal of this ongoing strike situation.
The strike has severely hampered our youth’s ability to develop and their efforts to show off the variety of gifts that God has given them.
According to Ibrahim, “commitment to educational training and investigation of the extraordinary and awesome tremendous potential lying latent in we the Nigerian youngsters; even this would be finally addressed with proper attention to re-launch Nigerian youth to global significance, where they truly belong.”
Ibrahim promised that the youth wing would handle issues based on constructive criticism and format. He urged Nigerian youths to maintain peace and be patriotic as they enter the campaign period.
Additionally, he advised young people to go to the organization’s website and sign up as members in support of Atiku’s bid for president in 2023.
He claimed that the organization’s goal was to build an army of enthusiastic young people and students to support Atiku Abubakar and mobilize grassroots support for him.
“It is also to assist in establishing an efficient and effective communication link with millions of eligible voters spread across all Nigerian voting locations;
Using the Atiku youth wing structure, he stated, “to strategically identify and win over a reasonable number of eligible voters in each polling unit.”
