War: Russia Sets To Give Powerful Missiles to Belarus

Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed reports,

Russia has vowed to support Belarus, its ally, with nuclear-capable Iskander-M missiles.

Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, made the pledge yesterday when he met his Belarusian ally Alexander Lukashenko in St Petersburg

Recall that Russia’s 24 February invasion of Ukraine included Russian armoured columns sent in from Belarus.

TrackNews Nigeria learnt that Iskander missiles have been sent before in Kaliningrad, a small Russian Baltic region between NATO members, Lithuania and Poland.

Our war correspondent, Mr. Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed, reports that they have a range of up to 500km (300 miles).

Putin assured President Lukashenko that: “in the next few months we’ll give Belarus tactical Iskander-M missile complexes, which can fire ballistic and cruise missiles, both conventional and nuclear types”,

The Belarusian President also told Russia to make his country’s warplanes nuclear-capable, and the Russian leader further promised that Belarusian Su-25 fighter jets would be upgraded.

Ukraine also reported a heavy rocket strike on Desna, a village near Chernihiv in the north.
