We Are Not Concerned About Amaechi – Tinubu’s Camp in 2023

Some supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, have reacted to a meeting between their leader and Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.
According to Track News, Wike and Tinubu met outside the country to discuss issues concerning the 2023 presidential election.

According to meeting feedback, Wike, who is locked in a political battle with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, may reach an agreement to support Tinubu and the APC in the 2023 elections.

In an interview with Track News, a Tinubu camp source who spoke on the condition of anonymity stated that the Tinubu camp is unconcerned about the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

According to the APC chieftain, Amaechi has not expressed support for Tinubu’s presidential ticket and has been lukewarm about the party’s campaign preparations.

He claimed that the former minister lacks the electoral capital to deliver River State to Tinubu like Wike, and that the governor’s actions are giving Amaechi’s camp nightmares.

“We are not concerned about (ex-minister Rotimi) Amaechi at the moment,” he said. He has been ambivalent about Tinubu’s ticket, and we know Wike’s actions are causing him sleepless nights. What exactly does Amaechi bring to the table?”

“How many votes did Amaechi receive from Rivers in the last election for the APC?” He received over 60,000 votes in the 2015 election. In 2019, he received 130,000 votes. What exactly is all of that? We didn’t even get 10% of the vote.

“Politics is a numbers game.” You need people who will support your ticket, not people who have no electoral value. Wike has accomplished far more than he has. I’m not sure how Wike did it, but he appears to have warmed the hearts of his people, and they appear to be more supportive of him. Rivers State, in our opinion, is critical for anyone seeking the presidency.”
