What Is Delaying Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign Launch – APC

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has stated that the delay in the launch of the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was due to logistical issues.
According to Track News, the delay in the APC presidential campaign kickoff is due to Bola Tinubu’s alleged fragile health.

However, in clarifying issues surrounding the ruling party’s campaign kickoff, the APC dismissed claims that the party’s presidential candidate’s health was to blame for the ongoing delay.

According to the PCC, the party is finalizing plans to release a new campaign council list and launch its campaign.

According to a member of the APC PCC who spoke to the Saturday Sun, Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, is physically fit and healthy to lead the party through rigorous rallies.

“We are planning to start because what is the point of rolling out and then suspending it like the opposition party did because they are still dealing with internal crisis?” he said. Before we begin, we want to cross all of our i’s and dot all of our t’s.

“The delay in the start of our campaign has nothing to do with Asiwaju’s health.” As I previously stated, it is purely logistical. It is incorrect to assert that he has not attended any serious functions. This week, he attended the State House launch of the Women’s Campaign Council. He will be in Kaduna early next week for a function.

“On Thursday, he held a series of review meetings with key stakeholders to finalize his campaign platform.” Our campaign will not be influenced by external forces or media pressure. We are not going to be stampeded by outside forces.

“Yes, the delay in campaign launch should not affect the release of the comprehensive list of campaign council, but I remain optimistic that it will be released this week.”

“There have been a number of consultative meetings, and I can tell you that Asiwaju met with the Directorate of Media and Communication, the Director-General, and other campaign council leadership on Friday.” So many administrative issues have been resolved, and we are almost ready to go on the campaign trail,” he assured. He also addressed the minor campaign funding controversy, saying, “I want to ask, if the leadership does not want to support the candidates, what will they use the money they got from the sale of nomination forms for?”

“The money is in the billions of naira, but they claim they will not support the candidates.” It is incorrect. Even if they claim that it is being misused for secretariat renovations, it cannot swallow the entire sum of money collected from aspirants. The ideal situation is for the party to support the candidates, no matter how small, particularly in states where our party does not have a governor.”
