WhatsApp restored after being down for over one hour

The instant messaging application, WhatsApp, has been restored after over an hour of being down, Track News reports.

At around 8:20AM on Tuesday, users of WhatsApp observed that they could no longer receive or send messages, while status could not longer be updated.

Our correspondent observed that the application was down world over as people from different locations took to Twitter and other social media apps to express their displeasure.

However, at 9:45AM, it was observed that users started receiving messages, while sent ones showed they have been delivered.

Meta, the owner of WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook, is yet to make a statement about the development
