TRACKING____Politicians believe that there are no permanent friends or permanent enemies but permanent interest. Apparently, this is the reason why friends turn to foes and foes to friends, especially during election periods.

Prior to the 2003 elections, three jolly friends Ibikunle Amosun, Gbenga Daniel and Dapo Abiodun, worked for the emergence of one of the (Daniel) as governor of Ogun State. But political aspirations divided them prior to 2007 elections; Daniel and Amosun became political opponents, which extended to the 2011 elections.

In 2019, Amosun as a siting governor worked against Abiodun governorship ambition during the 2019 polls despite being in the same political party. But politics being a game of interest, the three friends seems to have forgotten the past.

They reunited during Daniel’s son’s wedding in Lagos at the weekend and aany are of the view that the handshake and excitement that followed might bring an end to the political differences among the three friends, who have had opportunities to govern Ogun State.
