Major General Henry Ayoola, a former Commander of the Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven, has stated that Nigerians should not panic over President Donald Trump’s threat to send American troops to fight terrorists in Nigeria.
General Ayoola said some of those who don’t want Trump to send military forces to Nigeria may actually be sympathizers or supporters of terrorist groups.
Ayoola stated that if foreign help could speed up the fight against terrorism in Nigeria, it should be considered. In his words: “When America entered both Niger and Nigeria to rescue an American hostage. Did you know when that operation happened? Was any Nigerian k!lled?”
