Four days after he was kidnapped by gunmen at the Obiri-Kwere axis of the East-West Road, near Port Harcourt, the whereabouts of a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, Okey Wali, is still unknown.

Gunmen intercepted the vehicle of Wali, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and kidnapped him. During the abduction, they killed his driver and one other aide before taking him away. This incident has raised concerns about the security situation in Rivers State. The NBA, Port Harcourt branch, has called for his unconditional and early release.

The former Chairman of NBA, Port Harcourt branch, Prince Nyekwere, expressed his concern about Wali’s second abduction and said that the association was pained by this experience. The NBA is urging for prompt and safe release of Wali.

Wali, a former Chairman of the NBA, Port Harcourt branch, was in the company of two other people who were killed during the kidnapping. The fact that these individuals were killed suggests that the kidnappers had a specific mission and were quite fearless.

Prince Nyekwere, the former Chairman of NBA, Port Harcourt branch, expressed his sadness about the situation, particularly since this was Wali’s second abduction. The NBA, Port Harcourt branch, is very concerned and upset about what has happened.

“We don’t know who is doing this. You know he is the 26th president of the NBA. He was also a former chairman of the NBA, Port Harcourt branch.

The situation has caused great distress for all of us, and we hope that Wali will be released safely and unharmed. We urge the abductors to do the right thing and let him go. At the same time, we call on the security agencies to take all necessary measures to ensure his safe return.

On Friday, Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson of the state Police Command, confirmed that efforts were underway to secure Wali’s release. While she couldn’t disclose the details of their approach, she reassured the public that the police were taking the matter seriously and were actively working on the case.
