Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports.
Adeseye Ogunlewe, former Works and Housing Minister, has revealed why the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won the recently concluded Osun governorship election.
Ogunlewe claimed that the PDP won the election as a result of an internal crisis within the APC’s Osun State chapter (APC).
The former minister revealed this.
According to Ogunlewe, the PDP’s victory in Osun will have no bearing on the 2023 general elections.
The APC chieftain stated that the ruling party’s internal crisis in all states must be resolved before the general election.
According to Track News, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Ademola Adeleke, the Peoples Democratic Party’s Governorship candidate, the winner of the Osun State Governorship election on Sunday.
Adeleke defeated the incumbent governor of the state and the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, as well as thirteen other candidates in the July 16th election.
Adeleke won 17 of the state’s local government districts, while Governor Oyetola won the remaining 13 districts.
Adeleke won the election with 403,371 votes, while the incumbent governor received 375,027 votes.
At the INEC headquarters in Osogbo, the state capital and collation center, the PDP governorship candidate was declared the winner.
