Wike/Fubara War:When you Bring Down House Of Assembly, What Happens To The Roads?- APC Chieftain

Cletus Obun, an APC Chieftain, questioned Gov. Fubara during a TVC interview, pointing out the swift response to Rivers State House of Assembly issues compared to the apparent delay in addressing road infrastructure concerns. Obun criticized the prioritization of quickly demolishing the Assembly, emphasizing the necessity for a similar sense of urgency in addressing road maintenance.

Obun highlighted a potential imbalance, suggesting that the focus on the House of Assembly might overshadow crucial infrastructure like roads. He emphasized the need for swift reactions and interventions, underscoring their importance not only in legislative affairs but also in critical areas like road repair. Obun also pointed out the constitutional flexibility regarding the Assembly’s location, indicating it can convene wherever its members choose.

In Cletus Obun’s statement in a video (10:46), he disclosed saying, “If you can react so fast in bringing down the House of Assembly, what happens to the roads? Why is it that when roads break down, there’s no such quick intervention? Why is it the House of Assembly? Because they’ll make laws for you to pass appropriation bills, which can happen anywhere. Anywhere their members are seated is the House of Assembly. It’s like the palace of a king and a chief. Wherever the House of Assembly so decides, I deed there’s no constitutional provision where a House of Assembly should sit. I remember in 99, when I started off in Cross River State, we had to do renovation work because for over two decades, there was no democracy
