Three PDP NWC members return ‘mysterious’ N93.6m paid into accounts
Three memers of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have returned a “mysterious” N93.6 million paid into their accounts by the leadership of the party.
The three party officers are the Deputy National Chairman (South) Taofeek Arapaja; National Vice Chairman (South), Chief Dan Orbih and National Women Leader, Prof. Stella Affah-Attoe.
Arapaja got N36 million of the said money transferred into his bank account while Orbih and Effah-Attoe got N28.8 million each.
Recall the party national officer, Chief Chinemerem Madu, had earlier alleged that a National Vice Chairman, whose name he refused to mention was behind the plot.
Madu said the National Vice Chairman had approached and offered other members of NEC sums ranging from N25 million to N28 million each to address a damaging press conference with fabrications aimed at derailing the PDP Presidential Campaign.
The allegation comes amid the crisis in the party (PDP) over how the bulk of the over N10 billion realised by the party from nomination fees paid by aspirants have been spent.
