Woman Dies A Week After Accusing Her Husband Of Domestic Violence In Ebonyi

Operatives of the Ebonyi State Police Command have arrested one Sunday Uguru, who allegedly killed his wife, Anulika Uguru a week after she accused him of incessant battery and other forms of domestic violence.

Sunday, who initially fled before he was arrested claimed that she died after drinking some herbicide but he does not know who gave it to her.

Chairman of Human Rights Defenders (HURIDE) Ebonyi State, Sampson Oko Nweke, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, said he received news of the mother of six, Anulika’s death on Tuesday, April 26, a day after they spoke on the phone.

According to Nweke, the deceased had on April 19, brought a complaint to their office against her husband over alleged incessant cases of battery and other instances of domestic violations.
