Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi State, has been named the National Youth Coordinator of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate.
The nomination was communicated via a letter dated August 8, 2022, signed by Tinubu, and addressed to Bello, according to a statement on Sunday.
Since then, Bello has accepted the position and pledged to do everything in his power to help the APC win.
In his letter of acceptance, the candidate stated, “Your Excellency is one great Nigerian I know, who not only exemplifies but abundantly shows, through transformational leadership and good government, my ambitions for a Nigeria that is secure, united, and prosperous.”
“By way of this letter, we are glad to formally express your appointment as National Youth Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council,” Tinubu had said in the letter announcing Bello’s appointment.
Given your tremendous political accomplishments and the excellent leadership you have shown as the governor of your state and as a party member, this appointment is acceptable and fitting. We appreciate your participation in our campaign. We run a successful, message-driven campaign that will help us win the 2023 presidential election because we are confident that you will give your all to this new responsibility.
