Yenagoa-Oporoma-Ukubie Road: Jubilation in Riverine Otuan community as Lawmaker journey home by road

There were jubilations among the people of Otuan Community in Southern Ijaw Constituency 1 of Bayelsa State over the historic road journey into the community from Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

The Lawmaker representing Southern Ijaw constituency 1 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Felix Bonny-Ayah, drove to Otuan within his constituency through the road being constructed by the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri.

The people of the Otuan community expressed their gratitude to the Prosperity Administration for linking their community by road to the other parts of the world.

If they were told that they will access their community by road without sailing the waterway in this time of their live, it would have been a mission impossible.

Those were the thought of the people of Otuan Community on Tuesday when Hon. Bonny-Ayah, drove home.

Hon. Felix Bonny-Ayah, after being received by his people including leaders and stakeholders of the community, disclosed that this road project has further confirmed the Gov. Diri’s promise to link riverine communities by road to enhance economic activities in the coastal areas and give residents a new lease of life.

He thanked the Governor Diri for his love to the people of Otuan Community and the entire Ogboin Kingdom, disclosing that the Governor has truly demonstrated that he is a true son of the soil.

“For me as a lawmaker representing this community, the Governor has not only connected us to the other parts of the world, he has demonstrated that he is a true son of the Ogboin Kingdom because he is Chief from the Kingdom.”

“The governor has drastically reduced cost of transportation and risk of riverine transportation for my people. I am delighted that this history was made while I am alive and still a lawmaker representing my people at the state Assembly.”

“As a lawmaker I am very delighted that with the reduction of transportation by this project, it will further spur me to bring more constituency projects to my people. We will forever remain indebted to the Governor for this very project and more that he brought to the people of Southern Ijaw Constituency 1 in Bayelsa State”, he assured.
