Shehu Sani, former Kaduna lawmaker has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari government to protect lives of End SARS protesters.

His comment is coming after the arrest of some protesters at the Lekki toll gate.

Instagram Comedian, Macaroni and some #OccupyLekki protesters were arrested by the Nigeria police at the toll gate.

Recall that End SARS protesters had insisted on a protest after the Lagos judicial panel ordered reopening of Lekki toll gate despite no justice for those who lost lives in October 2020.

Reacting, Sani on his Twitter page said peaceful protest was a fundamental human right which should be permitted, as it was enjoyed by those in power.

His tweet read: “PEACEFUL protest is a fundamental right once enjoyed by those on the throne today.

“Permit and protect the protesters.”
