Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari says young citizens are fortunate to be Nigerian.

Gambari also noted that President Muhammadu Buhari will be remembered for leaving a legacy of credible elections and infrastructure.

He spoke on Sunday when members of the Legislative Mentorship Initiative (LMI) visited the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

”I think you are fortunate to be born a Nigerian”, Gambari told the visitors.

The CoS stressed that Buhari had laid a solid foundation for youth empowerment in Nigeria.

Gambari said the President’s commitment to youth development was displayed through the signed Startup Act 2022.

A similar Act recorded tremendous successes in Morocco, Tunisia and India, the senior aide added.

Gambari listed the 2nd Niger Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Abuja-Kano expressway, roads and railways, ports and power sector improvement, as Buhari achievements.

“He is committed to leaving by the time the administration comes to an end on May 29, 2023”, he noted.

Gambari, a former Foreign Affairs Minister, served as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

He was the first UN Under-Secretary-General and Special Adviser to Secretary-General on Africa (1999-2005).
