….Says Sheriff Is A Vibrant Leader With The Youths At Heart

-Francis Tayor-

TRACKING >>The youths in Delta State under the auspices of Ijaw Peoples Development Initiative (IPDI) has expressed displeasure over the failure of governor Ifeanyi Okowa to appoint Ijaw youths in his recent appointments.

The call was made by the Director of programmes of the group,Comrade Ezekiel Kagbala yesterday in Warri, said he wondered why the governor made key appointments in the last few days, but none of them accommodate the interest of youths.

The group also urged the governor to include a youth oriented Niger-Delta leader, an environmental human rights activist,Comrade Sheriff Mulade for confirmation to enable him serve in appointed capacity.

They further stressed that Mulade is a vibrant leader who have the youths at heart, as well as shown unprecedented leadership capacity by contributing to the relative peace enjoyed in Delta State.

In a statement Kagbala said, “It was regrettable that Sheriff Mulade’s name was omitted in the list forwarded to the Delta State House of Assembly for confirmation as a commissioner. We appeal to our dynamic governor not to underestimate the support he enjoyed from the Ijaw People in the state, especially the youths who worked tirelessly for his successful emergence for a second tenure. It is our earnest prayer that Governor Okowa will be just and fair with distribution of appointment”.

“We don’t know the rational behind Dr.Okowa’s choice of appointment,we perceive that the exercise was galvanized to reward political cronies and old political friends. However, reviving the lost economic and industrial glory of the state should be paramount if the governor is interested in excavating the state from it present economic abyss, the group stated”.
