Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa thanked NEMA for its assistance and assured the recipients that the items would be put to good use.
On October 20, the Federal Government handed over 292.4 metric tons of grains to the Ondo State government for flood victims, out of a total of 12,000 metric tons approved for distribution to all states and the FCT from the National Strategic Reserve Stock.
According to Aiyedatiwa, among the materials distributed are bags of rice and beans, kegs of vegetable oil, bags of maize and salt, cartons of seasoning cubes, and tin tomatoes.
Aiyedatiwa, who was represented by Femi Obideyi, Secretary of the Ondo State Emergency Management Agency (ODSEMA), stated that the items would be extremely beneficial to the victims.
The initiative in Ondo had benefited 1,000 victims, according to Olarenwaju Kadiri, head of NEMA’s Ekiti Operation Office, with 6,000 more on the way.
