NPFL: IMC, club owners meet next week to ratify kick-off for 2022/23 season
The Interim Management Committee (IMC) and the 20 club owners will meet next week in Abuja to ratify the kick-off date for the 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
December 28 has been fixed as the tentative kick-off date for the new season.
The club owners have agreed on an abridged format, with the campaign expected to end in May 2023.
The 20 teams will be divided into two groups, with the top two teams in each group meeting in a league format to decide the eventual winner.
Meanwhile, some clubs will have to play their home games on neutral venues after their stadium failed to meet the required standards.
Sunshine Stars, Nasarawa United and Lobi Stars are among the clubs affected
