Nudity inevitable in ‘Shanty town’ making – Ini Edo
Actress Ini Edo has addressed the concerns of nude scenes in the recently released six-part TV series: “Shanty Town.”
According to Ini Edo in an interview with BBC Pidgin, said telling a story about the shanties void of nudity and crime would be unrelatable because, in true life, these things exist in such regions.
Brown Sugar, as she’s fondly called, also stated it was time individuals began to see the body of a woman for what is it, an ordinary body, without conjuring up lewd images in their minds.
The 40-year-old role interpreter who played ‘Inem’ in the movie said: “We hear the talk about nudity and everything. But people don’t realise you cannot say a story about shanty, prostitution rings, or crime that you won’t see guns, or nudity.
“People should realise it’s part of the story you’re trying to sell, not an attempt to debase anybody. Because at the end of the day, we have to start seeing the woman body for what it is, just a body God created without people’s mind travelling to different places.
“We are trying to create real life, near life situations. So, it’s inevitable for there to be nudity.”
