You Waited For Your Godfather To Make You Governor, And He Lost His Own LGA -Wike To Tonye Cole
After Siminalayi Fubara, the All Progressives Congress, APC’s nominee for governor in the state, won the election, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike may have taken a shot at Tonye Cole, the state’s Democratic Party candidate.
Speaking at the government house in Portharcourt, Rivers state, Nyesom Wike observed that Tonye Cole had never mounted a successful statewide political campaign for his desire to become governor and instead had relied solely on his Godfather to make this happen.
The governor of Rivers State who made these assertions emphasized that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, eventually won control of his town, ward, and local government area after he had relied on his Godfather, Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of the state.
He continued by saying that they had forgotten that the people of Rivers State had overwhelmingly decided to reject them at the polls.
According to Wike, “Because his party was hopelessly divided and he was waiting for his godfather and business associate Rotimi Amaechi to mysteriously become governor, Tonye Cole never managed to run any successful political campaigns. Rotimi Amaechi was evicted from his neighborhood, ward, and local government district “.
