EPL: Chelsea paid £22million for Graham Potter
Brighton have revealed Chelsea paid £21.5m in compensation before taking manager Graham Potter and his backroom team last September.
The south coast club published their latest financial results on Wednesday.
The change in the dugout is listed under “post balance sheet events.”
This is a record fee paid by a Premier League team for a head coach.
It is however the second biggest of all time, only behind Bayern Munich’s £22m payout to bring in Julian Nagelsmann from RB Leipzig in 2021.
Potter signed a five-year contract after he arrived at Stamford Bridge worth about £60m.
He has struggled to impose his style with the Blues, who sit in 10th place on the table
