Give You 2 Weeks; You Must Give Me Names Of Those That Will Replace Nsirim—Wike to Rumueme People
During the burial ceremony of His Royal Majesty, Nyenwe Eli, Omunakwe Nyeche Nsirim, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, gave the people of Rumueme a two-week ultimatum to give him the list of those who would replace the monarch. He stated that it is important for somebody to take the position and speak for the people of Rumueme.
He further stated that he’s giving the monarch a state burial not because he’s a popular traditional ruler but because of his contribution to the state. He however urged other traditional rulers to imitate the characters of the late monarch.
According to him, “I want to give the Rumueme people two weeks; you must give me the name to replace him.” You must, because it is my legacy that somebody has to replace and speak for the Rumueme people. It is important that you do that. First of all, it is not because you’re a first-class traditional ruler or because you’re not a recognized traditional ruler that informs the state to give you a state burial. It is because of you and your contribution to the state. “Late Nsirim has contributed so much as far as Rivers State is concerned.”
