Labour Party beg Tinubu to sack female minister ‘for not concentrating on her duties’
The Labour Party (LP) has asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to relieve the Minister of State for Labour, Hon. Nkiruka Onyejeocha, of her appointment over her alleged failure to concentrate on her job.
The National Youth Leader of the party, Prince Kennedy Ahanotu, made the demand Wednesday in Abuja at a news conference.
Ahanotu also urged security agencies to probe her alleged role in the crisis currently rocking the Abia state chapter of the party.
His words:
“We are calling on the present government to relieve Onyejeocha of her ministerial role as she has lost focus and refused to concentrate on the assignment given to her.
“Nigerians should note the ‘unholy alliance’ between Onyejeocha and some of the Labour Party expelled members led by Chief Lamidi Apapa, whose purpose is to ensure that crisis is sustained perpetually in the party.”
Daily Trust reports that in a swift reaction, Onyejeocha fired back at the LP, asking them to settle their self-inflicted internal crisis and leave her alone.
The minister said the development was another paid campaign against her, significantly less than 24 hours after some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) cautioned some of her traducers within and outside the party.
