AFCON: Saudi Arabian clubs eyeing Super Eagles defender Troost-Ekong after heroic display
Several Saudi Arabian Professional League clubs have expressed strong interest in acquiring the services of Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano made this revelation in a tweet on Friday, attributing the heightened interest to Troost-Ekong’s standout performances for Nigeria in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
Currently plying his trade with PAOK in the Greek Super League, Troost-Ekong has been a critical figure in Nigeria’s AFCON campaign.
Romano highlighted the defender’s impressive displays in the AFCON and in leading PAOK to the top of the Greek Super League and making strides in the Europe Conference League.
Despite the interest from Saudi clubs, Romano noted that Troost-Ekong is content with his current situation at PAOK.
