Ijaw National Congress to hold National Convention May 23 and 25
TRACKING>>The steering committee of Ijaw National Congress (INC) has scheduled its Non- Elective and Elective National Convention for the election of its new leadership for May 23rd and 25.
In a statement made available to Tracknews by the chairman of the Steering Committee Prof. Joseph Atubokiki Ajienka said,
after due consultations with the INC Board of Trustees (BoT), Conference of Traditional Rulers and Elders (CITRE), the Electoral Committee (ELECO) and other relevant Organs and Stakeholders, the INC Steering Committee wishes to announce that arrangements have been concluded for the holding of its National Conventions.
The Non-Elective and Elective Conventions will hold on May 23rd and 25th 2019 respectively at the Ijaw House, Yenagoa , Bayelsa State. He also use the medium to call on all sons and daughters of Ijaw Nation both within Nigeria and in the Diaspora are called upon to take note of these dates.
Members of CITRE and all Zonal and Chapter Committee Chairmen are to take note of these dates and begin to make arrangements to ensure their participation.
Furthermore, all Zonal and Chapter Committee Chairmen are also called upon to prepare their list of delegates which shall in due course be authenticated by the INC steering Committee for further transmission to the ELECO.
The Electoral Committee headed by Rear Admiral W.G Yanga (Rtd) will in due course issue the timetable and necessary guidelines relating to the actual conduct of Elections to fill the various position of council.
On this note, the lists of Delegates from all Zones and Chapters are to be sent to Dr. Felix Tuodolor by the relevant committees as set up by CITRE who would then send same to the ELECO through the INC Steering Committee.
