Police Dispels Rumor Of Abuja Being Attacked By Terrorist

The Abuja Police has allayed the fear of Abuja residents over the viral news that the Federal Capital Territory is being attacked by terroristd.
The Police at the FCT stated that the country’ capital is not under attack by terrorists. The police also said that reasonable measures are being put place to ensure security in Abuja.
This is following the earlier report that unknown persons on motorbikes migrated to some parts of Abuja during odd hours on Sunday.
The Police however disclosed that the person’s seen on motor bikes are Security operatives of the FCT Police Joint Security Task Force who were on patrol.
In a statement by the Police spokesperson, Yusuf Mariam, the Police stated that it is deploying alternative security strategies in troubled areas.
“Contrary to the speculation, the Heads of Security Agencies (HOSA) in the Federal Capital Territory in the bid to address security concerns within the FCT, held a strategic meeting on Thursday 29th April 2021, where the resolved to deploy alternative proactive crime-fighting measures within the FCT particularly in areas with challenging terrain including aggressive motorized/foot patrols”, ASP Yusuf Mariam said.
Abuja residents have thus being advised to remain calm and law abiding as the situation is in control. The Police also reaffirmed their commitment towards the protection of citizens.
