Terrorists release abducted KadPoly lecturer, keep daughter, driver
The lecturer of Kaduna Polytechnic, Dr Rahmatu Abasrshi, who was abducted with her daughter and driver, three weeks ago, have regained freedom.
It was gathered the terrorists released the abducted lecturer after negotiation but her daughter Amirah and driver were still in captivity.
The victims were abducted on Kachia-Kaduna road while returning from a charity mission during Ramadan fasting from a village in Mariri axis in Lere local government area where she distributed clothes to Internally Displaced Persons(IDPs).
The Admin Officer of Barkindo Rahama Initiative founded by Dr Abarshi, Abdallah Isma’il Abdallah,bconfirmed her release.
He said after the lecturer regained freedom on Tuesday evening, she was taken to an hospital for medical check up.
Abdallah disclosed that she was freed after negotiation with the kidnappers but failed to state whether ransom was paid.
“But her daughter, Ameerah and the driver were still in captivity,” he added.
