How suspected kidnapper, Chinaza Philip, was arrested after kidnapping, taking N50m car

More facts have been uncovered on how a suspected kidnapper, Chinaza Philip, described by Federal Capital Territory Police Command as “notorious” was arrested.

Earlier, the FCT Police Command confirmed the arrest of Phillip, stressing that he is a notorious Abuja kidnapper.

His identity was unveiled by operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command.

The FCT Police Command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, said: “The suspect has been handed over to FCT Police Command today being Friday 19th January 2024, and currently in police custody.”

A source told our reporter that the police did not only recover the kidnapped victim’s N50 million worth of car, but also rescued the victim and also recovered three pistols with 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

The source added: “On the 17th of January, 2024 at about 11pm, based on a distress call from Control Room State Headquarter, Kaduna, relayed that a syndicate of kidnapper number about four kidnapped one Segun Akinyemi of Area 3 Garki FCCA quarter Abuja at a gunpoint with his vehicle Toyota Hilux V6 NO. 30DG ABUJA valued at N50 million, en route with the victim to Kaduna.

“Upon receipt of the information Patrol 5 ALPHA Kawo Division swung into action and also mobile men from 1 PMF Kaduna Unit 14 at pin down duty at AARANO Fuel Station, along Zaira Road exchange gunfire with the kidnapper at Unguwan Gwari by AARANO Fuel Station, rescued the victim, recovered the vehicle.

“During this, one Chinaza Philip, 28, of life camp Abuja FCT, a member of the gang was shot in his leg and arrested, while three others namely: Chidebere Nwadigo, Auwal and one other escaped with bullet wounds.

“Items recovered are a Baretta pistol number 08083 with five rounds of 9mm life ammunition and two pistols made in China Cal 9mm Pak with 10 rounds of life ammunition, which belonged to the gang.

“The arrested suspect was handed over to SUPOL KAWO and his patrol team.

“The suspect confessed to the crime.
