My attention was dreawn to a callous and libellous publication by one Comr. Godspower Tamuno at about 8:15 am on Monday, June 29, 2020 which was posted on the wall of a yet to be identified facebook account of Iniwari Pabo. Wherein, malicious and damaging allegations intended to smear my reputation and devalue my worth and social standing in the eyes of innocuous and unsuspecting members of the public was caused to be published and given prominence in the new media.

In the said press statement that was posted on the Facebook Wall of Iniwari Pabo, they alleged amongst other things that: I was given the sum of One Million Naira by Timi Alaibe to address a Press Conference in Abuja while I was President of the National Union Of Bayelsa State Students ( NUBSS) Worldwide to castigate former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan ( GCFR) when he contested for governorship against Chief Ndutimi Alaibe and others.

Secondly, that I am reputed to betraying public trust, if given opportunity to serve.

Thirdly, that my actions enraged members of my Exco; which gave rise to my removal as President of NUBSS Worldwide.

Fourthly, that I am a man of treacherous character, not fit and proper to hold any public office or to occupy the position of the National Spokesman of IYC Worldwide.

Sir, i have considerably; brought to the fore all the issues raised against me by my traducers; in their desperate attempt to tarnish my image and smear my hard earn reputation to demostrate the enormity of the petition.

One, I was never at anytime given the sum of One Million Naira; either directly or by proxy from Timi Alaibe. Fortunately, Chief Ndutimi Alaibe is alive, well and in good health. I implore the security agencies to utilise their vast network and resources to get to the root of this allegation. Frankly, all through my stay as president of NUBSS, I never met Alaibe and as at this moment I don’t have any relationship or liaison with him.

Two, after I left the Student Movement, I have had the privilege of holding several positions in numerous organizations and groups – prominent amongst which; is the Civil Liberties Organization (CLO), where i served as Vice Chairman. In all my years of service to humanity, I have never been accused of betraying any body’s trust ; neither have I used my position for self – aggrandizement. However, there are certain principles I hold dearly; which I can’t compromise, for e. g being forthright and the ability to speak out when things are going wrong; are principles I cherish greatly. If these are what make’s me someone that betrays public trust, then I am quilty as charged.

Three, at no time did my Exco or any body for that matter was enraged at me. Of course during my sojourn as president of NUBSS, there are times I had disagreements with members of my Exco, but they were managed in such a way that even after many years; each time we come in contact, we reminiscent on our time as Student Union leaders and what the Student Movement is facing today.

Four, being treacherous has no place in my lexicon or DNA. In fact, if there is anything I am known for; is my ability to stand up for what i believe in and to pursue it with vigour. I have always stood firm on the side of truth.

Five, fortunately; former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is alive, hale and hearty. I urge the security and Intelligence community to deploy their awesome security network to verify from our universally acclaimed Man of Peace and Honour, if at any time, I did author a press statement against him or to verify from the media houses both print or electronic; if I made statements that are detrimental or despicable against him.

Finally, I have never been in doubt as to the extent people can go in pursuit of their ambition. Also, I am not oblivious of the fact that, when you are in this kind of contest expecially with people that have seen clearly, the hand writing on the wall, they would do anything to get you out of the way. It is rather unfortunate that instead of contestation of ideas on how, we can move the council forward, some persons are rather interested in resorting to cheap blackmail and pull him down syndrome; which is plaguing our society.

My Prayers:

1. I am urging the Security and Intelligence community to investigate and ascertain the actual identify of these persons and to bring them to book.

2. That the Security agencies should find out the varacity of the claim that, I was given the sum of One Million Naira by Chief Ndutimi Alaibe to address a Press Conference in Abuja while I was President of NUBSS with the sole aim of putting former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in bad light before the public.

3. That the Security agencies should request my accusers and traducers to come face to face with me and present their evidence and confront me with them rather than hiding under fake and pseudo accounts to write trash, spew hatred and post garbage and junks; in order to tarnish my image and misled the unsuspecting public.

4. That the security agencies should assist me to identify these persons; for them to substantiate their allegations or be ready to meet me in court.

5. That the security agencies should assist me to unmask nsors and financiers; to enable me name and shame them.
