ASANAKPO DESERVES SAGBAMA LGA COUNCIL CHIEF

TRACKING >>The build up to the 2019 Local Government elections in Bayelsa State, it is an indisputable fact that the political landscape of the various eight local government areas has been so heated and intriguing bringing about the emergence of many Chairmanship Candidates battling vigorously to clinch the PDP tickets for the helmsman job at the council levels.

Although the battle, in view of the present political climate, has been adjudged by onlookers and party faithfuls as very interesting, as it has turned out to be a contest of titans as to who becomes the next council boss.

Among the gladiators for the plum job is no other person than a people -centred contestant passionately loved by the youth, Hon Asanakpo Lucky Oyinkuro,who at present holds sway in his stewardship as the Chairman, Bayelsa Volunteers.

Asanakpo, a versatile personality, has over the years on assumption of office upon his appointment by Governor Seriake Dickson, amazingly become a spectacle to behold in the political history of the state.The reason is not far-fetched. On assumption of office as the helmsman of Bayelsa State Volunteers, a security outfit set up by the state government, whose mandate statutorily is to fight crime and rid off criminality from the state.

It is note worthy that Asanakpo has worked in due diligence mapping out modern crime fighting strategies and networking in synergy with the Nigeria Police Force, the State Security Services and other key security agencies with a view to stemming the tide of crime and possibly nipping the menace in the bud.

As a matter of fact, before his assumption of office, the wave of crime in the state was in the increase and this had been seen as an intractable situation in the state begging for solution.

Cultism, kidnapping, armed robbery and all sorts of unwholesome acts were already taking their toll. Consequently upon this dreaded situation, Asanakpo gave a marching order to his lieutenants, who are senatorial coordinators to join him by taking the bull by the horn to beef up security and arrest perpetrators of crime in their respective local domains.He spelt out clearly to his coordinators that the responsibility of the restoration government is to ensure security of lives and property and not the contrary.

Under the watch of the security boss, Bayelsa State to a large extent has become a safe heaven rid of criminals. As a hand that is tested and trusted, going by the score card of the Governor in respect of the fantastic security architecture of the state and also by the assessment of Bayelsans living in an environment that is secure and safe, Asanakpo’s elevation as Sagbama LGA Chairman will not only rub off on the people but will again turn around the fortunes of the people. As a youth friendly servant leader, under his watch, a teeming number of unemployed youth have been employed keeping them engaged to enable them contribute their quota in fighting crime.

Asanakpo’s undying quest in making Bayelsa a safe abode is unparalleled and this laudable gesture makes him a top notch for elevation.The youth of SALGA are impressed by his track records and pedigree and have overwhemingly thrown their weight behind Asanakpo’s candidature as they are saying “carry go your shoes are heavily laced”.

Asanakpo a graduate of Marketing from the prestigious University of Calabar is an urbane personality, who has cut his teeth previously in his stewardship as Special Adviser to the Governor, Chairman/Coordinator Waterways Security Sagbama LGA and also remarkably as Director on Operation Bayelsa State Environmental Sanitation Board. It is in no doubt that the feat achieved in different responsibilities in service has made him a cynosure of the public.

We, on this vanguard, make a passionate appeal to Governor Dickson, who believes in celebrating excellence, service and merit to kindly annoit Asanakpo’s candidature owing to his unbeatable track records putting his life on the line busting crime in the state.He has proved to the world that he is not Lilly levered, as he is committed to making people in the state go about doing their normal business without fear of being attacked by the people of the underworld.

In like manner, in very deep sense of humility and spiritedness, we also appeal to party faithfuls and major stakeholders at the LGA to close ranks regardless of personal interest and unanimously endorse the candidature of the one, who has written his name in gold all for service on June 13th billed for the party primaries.
