COVID-19: Bala orders decontamination of four LGs, others

TRACKING___Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has ordered decontamination of Ganjuwa, Ningi, Misau, Warji, Bogoro Local Government Areas of the state against the coronavirus disease.

The governor, who gave the order when he chaired a stakeholders meeting at the Command Guest House, Bauchi on Wednesday, said Gida Dubu, a settlement along Maiduguri Road is to be fumigated considering the high number of COVID-19 cases in the coouncil area.

The governor therefore, reiterated that the fight against the pandemic is a collective responsibility that requires the support of all.

Stakeholders at the meeting, described as a welcome development, the resolve of the state government to suspend both total and partial lockdown in the state.

The governor while announcing the vacation of the existing partial lockdown in the state and total lockdown in three local governments, urged religious leaders to ensure total compliance to regulations set up for the full reopening of worship centres.

He called on the people of Bauchi state to adhere to the protocol of physical distancing, use of face masks and hand sanitizers, hand washing and reducing time spent during congregational worships.

Governor Bala directed leadership of market traders association to also ensure full compliance to the safety measures as advised by health experts.

“Restrictions on inter-state travels, closure of schools, stay at home order, ban on commercial motorcycle operations, restriction in the number of passengers by both taxis and tricycle operations is still in force,” Bala said.
