A leading political figure in Delta State, Hon. (Dr) Braduce Amakazi Angozi, has counseled Deltans ahead of 2023, that the Governor that must succeed the present administration should be an Ijaw man. Dr. Braduce also dismissed claim of zoning in the state.

Speaking to TrackNews Online Dr. Braduce said there is nothing like zoning in Delta State. Maintaining that it was only a political gimmick employed by group of people within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to satisfy their political interests as at then. The Burutu Local Government born political champion, further stated that for the purpose of equity, fairness and justice, the Ijaws of Delta State must be given the opportunity to become the next Governor of the state. As they have supported other tribes in achieving their Governorship ambitions overtime. While dismissing the zoning matter, Angozi also used the medium to indicate his interest for the governorship election in the state come 2023. Adding that zoning is a none issue on his ambition as it is only a mirage. Giving series of reasons to buttress his point, the Ijaw politician explained that if there is zoning why would PDP be having contestants from other zones vying for the governorship of the state.

He also added that, In Delta State zoning has never being in practice since inception of Democracy. As a matter of fact when people became awaking to sustaince of Democracy in 2003, every senatorial zone has actively participate in Delta state gubernatorial election. Sequel to the above fact in 2003, when Democracy was incubating Prince Ned Nwoko, Chief James Ibori, Chief OGBORU contested. To further guide his claims, he gave analysis of how various zones in the state has vigorously and keenly contested in Governorship elections. In 2007 when the erroneous mantra begin which has been in breach than practice. Every senatorial districts enmassly participated which negate zoning formula. In that of Delta North, Godswill Obielum, Peter okocha, Ifeanyi okowa, Fidelis odita while in Delta south, Pz Aginigan, Emmanuel uduagan, Young Daniel igbrude and Albert okumagba the same also in Delta Central, ovie omoagege, Pius ewherido, Ejaife odebala, Emmanuel agwariawvkdo, Oscar Ibru,
Great Ogboru, Otega emerho. In the year 2011, Delta Central, Ovie Omoagege, Great Ogboru and Samuel Onocharigho and in Delta South, Emmanuel Uduagan, Braduce Amakazi Angozi,
Saliba Mukoro and John kpokpogri in continuation to occupy the highest seat of power in 2015, Delta North, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, Victor Ochei, Ngozi olejeme
Charlse Emetulu, Tony obulans Peter okocha and in Delta Central, Sen. Ovie Omoagege, Otega Emerho,
