TRACKING ____ The former Southern Ijaw council Boss, has joined the league of contestants to represent Bayelsa Central Sanatorial District.

Chief Ogbe who spoke with newsmen in Yenagoa shortly after the decaleration, said he has concluded consultations with stakeholders in the party and has informed them of his ambition and desire to fly the PDP’s flag in the 2020 Central Senatorial bye-election.

He stated that, he is to aspire and to represent the good people of Bayelsa Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly. That there is a season for everything and that this is his own season to be come a Senator. That age wise, Ogbe said that he is matured and that he is a personality.

The former council Boss said, he is eminently qualified to seek the Party’s nomination adding that he is better placed to represent the Central Senatorial given his experience in both the public and private sectors.

He further said, if giving the opportunity to serve at the red chamber, he will be able to aggregate and articulate the views of the people of Bayelsa State and the Niger Delta. And also having the insight and understanding of Niger Delta issues, and development, federal
restructuring, fiscal federalism and resource
distribution/allocation.

As a representative, “i will always get in torch with my constituents regularly for
consultative meetings and this requires establishment of active constituency office to facilitate participatory leadership which will enable me to establish think-tank to interrogate the concerns of the constituency for development into motions and bills, while having the knowledge of oil industry laws in relation to its
impact on the economy and society of the
people.

TrackNews Online recalled that upon the 13th of February, 2020 victory of the duo of Senator Douye Diri and Lawrence Ewrudjakpo of the Peoples Democratic Party as Governor and Deputy of Bayelsa State at the Supreme Court, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had declared the two Senatorial seats vacant necessitating the Electoral Commission to begin preparations for a bye election to fill the above seats.
