I Was Paid N10,000 For Delivering A 400-level student of Uniosun To Her Murderers: Culprit

TRACKING____Justice Oyejide Falola of a High Court in Ikirun, Osun State yesterday sentenced two persons, Elijah Oyebade, 25 and Jelili Raji, 35, to death by hanging by for the murder of one

Rofiat Adebisi a female 400-level student of Osun State University who was murdered in Ipetu-Ijesha, on Dec. 22 2016.

The Culprits were first arraigned before the court on November 14, 2017 alongside one Yusuf Ajibade, 28, on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy to commit murder, murder and stealing.

In a trial that lasted severely hours saw the prosecution inviting 5 witnesses and tendered several exhibits before the Court while convicts were said to have testified for themselves.

Barrister Kareem Adekilekun, The Prosecution Counsel narrated to the court that the Miss Rofiat Adebisi, a 400-level student of Osun University, Ipetu-Ijesha, was murdered on Dec. 22 2016 by the defendants.

He told the court that Damilola Adebisi boarded a Golf car with number plates: Lagos FKJ 636 DL driven by Elijah Oyebode.

Shockingly, Rofiat’s body was found by the roadside the next day along Egbeda/Iragbiji road in Boripe Local Government Area of the state and upon investigation, her iPhone was traced to one Qadri.

He further explained that Qadri led the Police to Yusuf, who sold the phone to him on the instruction of Elijah, the commercial driver.

In his confession, Elijah said, “Raji, who is also known as Ifa ask me to supply him a maid. He also gave me the charm to touch any lady I intended to bring for him and assured me that she will not argue with me.

I delivered Rofiat Adebisi, a 400 level student of UNIOSUN, to him at his shrine and he paid me the sum of N10,000.

He further confessed that he applied the charm that was given to him by Ifa on the late Rofiat at the point where she wast putting her luggage in the boot of the car.

Meanwhile, the report of the police after investigation showed that Oyebode had sex with deceased before taking her to Raji’s shrine and this report was corroborated byt he confessional statements of the three convicted persons.

Justice Oyejide Falola, who presided over the matter, found the two persons guilty after over two years since the trial first commenced.

While delivering his judgement, Justice Oyejide acknowledges the the prosecution counsel proved his case against the convicts beyond every reasonable doubt.

He, however, acquitted the second convict, Ajibade, of a two-count charge of murder and conspiracy but convicted him on the third count charge of receiving stolen property and sentenced him to two years imprisonment, while Oyebode and Raji were sentenced to death by hanging.

He also ordered that the shrine where the heinous act was carried out be forfeited to the state government permanently.
