Kebbi, Bauchi tell civil servants to work from home from today
TRACKING___Kebbi State Gov. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and Bauchi state ask workers to stay home .
Two more states, Bauchi and Kebbi directed their workers to stay home from today Wednesday, as part of measures to contain coronavirus in the country.
Many states and Abuja have already slammed the measure.
Gov. Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State on Tuesday directed all civil servants to work from their homes for two weeks.
Acting Head of Civil Service, Hajiya Fatima Sani-Ango conveyed the order in. a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday night.
Exempted workers are those on essential services such as health personnel, financial institutions, internal revenue collection, water board, media outfits, electricity supply, security and emergency service, etc.
Bauchi State, where Governor Bala Mohammed is in quarantine also directed Civil Servants on GL 12 and below to work from home.
The stay-at-home order takes effect from today March 25, until further notice.
Alhaji Abubakar Ma’aji, Bauchi State Head of Civil Service, said that staff on GL 13 and above are to continue with their normal duties.
He named health and security personnel among essential staff that were to report to work during the period to sustain coordination of government services.
Ma’aji said that the measure became necessary considering that 44 Nigerians, including Gov Bala Muhammed of the state, had tested positive to the Coronavirus.
“We urge citizens to observe necessary precautions during interaction; there should be minimal contact among people,” he said.
