Lawmakers Berate Dickson: Declares him Persona Non Grata In Ekeremor; Says No To Dickson’s Ambition For Senate

TRACKING ____The member representing Ekeremor Constituency Two in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Wilson Ayakpo Dauyegha, has read the riot act to the former governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, to steer clear Ekeremor Local Government Area in his vaulting quest to cajole the people to endorse his ambition for the senate seat in the yet to be scheduled forth-coming bye-election for the Bayelsa West Senatorial District.

Hon. Dauyegha who lambasted Dickson for his brazen display of his selfish political interest to get the senate ticket by any means necessary, vows that critical political stakeholders in Ekeremor have resolved that Dickson’s inordinate ambition for power shall be resisted and truncated by all means necessary as they shall ensure that his ongoing inducements of persons, communities and wards in EKELGA to endorse his bid become futile.

The Assembly Minority Leader stated equivocally that the results in the last November 16th 2019 gubernatorial election where the All Progressive Congress APC, defeated the PDP in Ekeremor Local Government Area shall be replicated in the forth-coming Senatorial Bye Election whenever it is scheduled, as the APC is set to ensure that Dickson’s incursion into EKELGA as an appendage to Sagbama, shall be totally botched.

According to Hon. Ayakpo, “Dickson should note that Ekeremor people are not beggers for him to throw peanuts of five-five and ten-ten thousand naira to a minority few to endorse his ill-intentioned desire for senate. He shall fail. Dickson cannot cajole a few gullible insignificant persons in his party to endorse him in their living houses in Yenagoa and think that such clandestine cosmetic moves shall work for him in Ekeremor LGA. It shall not work; we shall resist him, as we have always done, to make sure he does not extend his corrupt tentacles to Ekeremor Land.

The lawmaker further berates Dickson on his ongoing corruption cases at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and calls on him to go and answer the questions on his head at the anti-graft agency over his financial malfeasance of state funds running into over Two Hundred Billion Naira that he fleeced from the state in his sorry eight years of misrule as governor of Bayelsa State.

In his words:
“Dickson should go and face his 33 cases and petitions against him in the EFCC. Ekeremor people are not fools to vote for him as they have never voted for him before. Let Dickson show us what he did for Ekeremor to warrant his endorsement by EKELGANS? In his two tenures of eight years, it is on record that Dickson did not commission one project in the whole of Ekeremor. This is a fact.

“Look at the self-styled road he claimed he built to Ekeremor, no one can travel on that death-trap anymore. He diverted billions of naira from the state coffers in the name of building the Ekeremor road, but as we speak now, rains have watched off over half of the so-called road and we still travel to our villages through neighbouring Obubagbene and Tuomo in Delta States.”

Hon. Dauyegha stated it categorically that Dickson had done nothing for Ekeremor people to merit its ongoing inducement with paltry sums to some persons to buy their mandate to get him elected as senator after he deliberately denied the people of Ekeremor the deputy governor position and allotted same to Sagbama and his personal aide, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo whom he feels shall cover his dirty tracks of sleaze amounting to billions of naira.

Hon. Dauyegha opined that Dickson’s deceit of himself by not funding the so called Bayelsa Polytechnic in Aleibiri whereas he doled out billions to fund the University of Africa in his home town of Toru-orua, as against his abandonment of the only skeletal semi-tertiary institution in Eketemor LGA, he dumped in Aleibiri without getting commensurate attention as UAT.

The only APC lawmaker from the Bayelsa West District decried the lack of appointment of Ekeremor sons and daughters. Into choice political positions in Dickson’s eight year misrule when he allotted the juicy cabinet portfolios of Ministries of Finance, Works and Infrastructure, Education and the likes to Sagbama indigenes and deliberately appointed Ekeremor indigenes into very dry and irrelevant ministries and portfolios.

For these bias and many more, Hon Dauyegha vowed that the people of Ekeremor has rejected Dickson for his hatred and lip service towards the Ekeremor people.
