Nigerian Customs Intercepts Over $8 Million At Murtala Mohammed Airport

TRACKING____The Nigeria Customs Service Murtala Mohammed Airport command has intercepted a sum of $8,065,615 from a driver, before it could be boarded on a flight.
The money which was wrapped in big brown envelopes were stashed in a vehicle belonging to the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO).

Hameed Ali, the customs comptroller-general, said at a press conference in Lagos on Tuesday, said that the cash was intercepted in a car while it was about to be loaded into an aircraft.The driver of the vehicle and a staff of NAHCO have been apprehended in connection with the alleged money laundering.Mr Ali also noted that since the day the money was seized, no bank has come forward to claim it.Investigations are currently ongoing to discover the owner(s) of the money.
