Ritualists acting unstable nabbed with human bones
TRACKING___Delta State Police Command has arrested two suspected ritualists with human bones at Igbogidi in Udu Area council of the State.
They had been pretending to be mentally unstable.
Police Commissioner, Hafiz Inuwa, who announced the arrest to newsmen in Asaba on Monday, gave their names as Yakubu Bala Dagan, 33, and Emmanuel Obughor, 30.
He disclosed that the duo were apprehended at their hideout at DSC Expressway, Igbogidi in Udu council.
Inuwa said one Stephen Oyibare, a vigilante leader, reported the matter at a police station.
“That two suspected ritualists pretending to be of unsound mind were accosted under the DSC Expressway Bridge. Upon a search, the suspects were found with suspected human bones,” he said.
Items recovered included nine human bones, 15 used baby pads, a pair of skating shoes, and a red-brownish powdered substance wrapped in three black polythene bags.
Others are a sack containing clothing, documents, and two voter cards belonging to one of the suspects.
CP Inuwa added that the suspects were coherent in their speech at the time of the arrest.
He confirmed that the recovered bones have been sent to a laboratory for analysis.
