YENAGOA____The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, ESV Moses Teibowei has pledged to partner the Movement for the Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) in the development of Bayelsa State.

ESV Teibowei made the pledge as he played host to the MOSIEND Central Zone executive on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at his office in Yenagoa.

He noted that, since MOSIEND has as one of its core objectives, sustainable peace and development in the Izon nation, the Government would interface with the movement to maintain the peace at project sites as government continues to embark on critical infrastructural development.

The Hon Commissioner, however, noted that movements and organisations like the MOSIEND had, overtime, drifted from the tenets of the Ijaw struggle as their leaders allowed themselves to be manipulated by political actors for selfish gains.

Hence, he urged the leadership of MOSIEND to abide by the tenets of the Ijaw struggle and desist from any form of politicization for optimal performance.

The Works Commissioner also advised youth leaders from the zone to avoid castigating and discrediting governors and other leaders within the zone adding that, they are supposed to speak in one voice and that their collective voice is their bargaining power.

The Commissioner also responded to some issues raised in an address by the Chairman of MOSIEND Central Zone, Comr. Taribolou Ogboriyo.

On the issue of abandoned projects in the state, ESV Teibowei noted that Government was aware and that it would work assiduously to complete them. However, he stated clearly that that would also depend on the availability of funds.

Speaking on the internal roads earmarked for rehabilitation, the Commissioner noted that repairs would commence in no distant time as all is set.

In a related development, the Hon Commissioner assured the Kolga Ministers’ Prayer Network of his readiness to work with them emphasizing that, the importance of God cannot be overemphasized.

Speaking earlier, the President of the Kolga Ministers’ Prayer Network, Rev. David Opuene who described the appointment of ESV Teibowei as the favour of God noted that, they would, on their part, pray for him and the Prosperity Government to succeed.

Rev. Opuene also stressed the need for the Commissioner and the Prosperity Government to prioritise the place of God in their administration as God is the source of all good things.
