This 76 years old African president has just shutdown Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp in his country
Elections in Africa is always known to be a time of tensed affair between various political parties and the the Citizens who would be casting their votes.
A lot of things have been happening in one of our Neigbouring African Countries, Uganda for some days now as they prepare for their Presidential Election dated to hold on the 14th of January, 2021.
The current president of the Nation, Yoweri Museveni is among the presidential candidates as he hopes to be re-elected, going up against ten other opposition Parties. Yoweri Museveni who is Uganda’s Current president has been ruling the Nation since 1986 and doesn’t look like giving up the Position any time soon. He is currently 76 years of age.
His fierce rival in this Year’s election is the famous 38 years old Singer, Bobi Wine who turned into Politics.
As a way of Regulating the Affairs and Activities that takes place on their Social Media Platform, Facebook recently took down some Pages on their platform Belonging to the Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni. The Pages are alleged to be fake account Belonging to the President.
President Museveni tagged Facebook’s act as Arrogance.
In response to the Action Facebook took by shutting down some alleged Fake Accounts owned by the President, the Ugandan Government has Blocked Facebook from operating in the Country until Further Notice.
